Can't speak from personal experience, but my son has been with them for a year and a half (after 3 months w/ England - whole 'nother story).
He seems to like it; he gets all the miles he wants, and has a good dispatcher working with him. However, it wasn't always like that. He went through two other dispatchers that drive him nuts. (No miles/long layovers, etc.)
So it seems that it's a good place to work IF you get lucky and hook up with the right people.
BTW - he runs out of the Atlanta terminal.
Hope this helps.jasper_truck86 Thanks this. -
I've heard some positive things about Central. The positive has been much more than the negative. I THINK they may be worth it. Go check 'em out, but be careful. Check the newspapers for their help-wanted-ad advertisements and see if you can check how big their orientation classes are. Big classes are bad news, as is advertising in the help-wanteds in the papers every day of the world (like Dick Simon used to do in the Salt Lake Tribune).

I am a student with central refridgerated. I had one week with my trainer, who is excellent, Before i had a medical problem. Am at home for a week or two then have to ask for reinstatement. Hopeing that goes well and can finish my training and be home for christmas. Large classes and a very quick school. would not recomend to some one with no truck experience. But if you have a cdl already and need a refresher course it is good.

My son works for them, He is a lease operator, and like any company there are pro and cons. Most companies I have seen him or my husband work for are all about the same. Son has fired two dispatchers and finally got a good one. He is averaging about 2800 -3000 miles a week, but like I said he says all companies are the same, and think good drivers are a dime a dozen.

central is indeed like most companies i am inclined to tell people what color truck do you like just pick a color n go from there when looking for a driving job i am not a real o/o fan for new drivers i think you need to know the ins and outs of the business before taking the plunge dont hurry to be a business man until you know the business and in trucking that means get some miles under your belt and pay attention to every little expense that it takes to manage a truck
bonbonsron, groundpounder, Mr. Breeze and 2 others Thank this. -
