    Sorry your last gig turned out to be a high-class dumpster fire. :(

    In truth--I think the pblms were more local--& not what Linde/Praxair really is in most other places.

    If I see something else that fits your earlier criteria--will let you know...:cool:

    From my research Linde is supposed to be a awesome place to work. I thought I was going to work there till retirement. Unfortunately Garfield has a reputation that I hadn't heard about and had to learn first hand.

    Just posted (as of the time of this writing, anyway) -- Gemini Transport (aka, "Loves") has an opening for a fuel transport driver in Salt Lake City.....:D

    Overtime pay, after 40 hours.

    A $5k sign-on bonus, too.

    Based on what I have witnessed over here in the "deep south"--this is easily one of the best gigs in the tanker business--if you wanna be home, daily:

    I just talked the recruiter for Gemini Transport (aka, "Loves"). Awesome lady named Ashly.
    $32h 50-60h a week.
    Nightshift with midweek off. (My only concern)
    Estimated $104k a year not including bonus.
    $5,000 sign on bonus
    $200 monthly safety bonus
    Gemini Safe Driver Credit (5 years-$15K, 10 years-$20K, 15 years-$20K and 20 years-$25K)

    Night shift is the only thing that would give me pause. Everything else sounds awesome.

    Night time is the best time to drive a truck. It's hard if you have a family. I worked nights and every alternative to maintaining your same work sleep/wake schedule will have you either starting the work week by skipping a full "night's sleep" or ending your week by staying up or skipping sleep on your first day off. I worked nights for 18 years and loved it because of the much less traffic. You either maintain your "vampire" schedule and lose touch with friends and family or drive tired.

    You could start off with Love's, doing night-shift duty.

    Then later.....when a slot opens up--switch over to day-shift duty--if that's what you want.

    I prefer night duty--for fuel. Far fewer idiots on the road, & in the way.

    The REAL question here is: do you really wanna do fuel, next? Or maybe something else, instead?

    ~~~~~~~
    Here's a real "cowboy" suggestion.....
    Did you actually like doing cryo work--but it was instead just the people :rolleyes: there that sucked :banghead: ?
    I think cryo was a really smooth move, on your part.
    It's clean, easy, fairly consistent work. Fairly recession-resistant. Lots of interesting, different customers.
    And cryo work won't ever go away. :D
    If you agree....then you could try this:
    Fill out an application here (embedded in the below link).....& then later....when you talk to a recruiter--ask if they need any local area help in SLC, and nearby (I'd actually be very, very surprised if they didn't :p--Linde clearly isn't getting the job done :biggrin_2559: ):
