From my experience in the past being a trainer, I saw firsthand a lot of the garbage that goes on like these companies, wanting the trainers to sign off on these guys that absolutely have no clue how to operate a truck just saw they can get their government funded training money… And I had one guy one time never even made it off the property when he opened his mouth and told me that “I already know everything there is to know about driving a truck. You can’t tell me anything” that’s when I turn around and threw him off right then and there .

All the issues written up were addressed and taken care of. Found the coolant leak, a brass fitting in the transmission cooler was cracked. 4 new batteries. Fuel filters changed, 3 axle alignment done as per Volvo. And my 2nd new windshield in the last 6 weeks. Leaving out for San Francisco and Los Angeles in the morning.

Through all the trials and tribulations here at Abilene, they allow me to run on my schedule. I’m very grateful that I get a solid 7 days off every 3 weeks, run where I want to and make a few pennies while doing it.
Our retirement plans are in place, the biggest eye opening experiences that put everything in place this past year was medical experiences we both had. With my procedure I had September, my wife’s medical issue last March, all those bills came to over $200K. Our portion? My deductible of $1500. Plus I see what my 88 year old mom is going through with her 5 hospital stays and her monthly chemo, it’s scary to think about not having medical coverage.
Thats a whole other issue altogether. In a nutshell, I will work solely for health insurance for 16 more months.Last edited: Jan 12, 2023
