Well, I did make it out at around 1030.
The roads started to look better and most of the accidents had been cleared.
The only thing I encountered was some slow traffic at Monticello due to a vehicle fire.

Got to my delivery at Costco and they were playing musical chairs (well, docks) with the trailers.
Drop my loaded over there, then move these 2 loaded trailers out of the docks and put those 2 loaded trailers in their place. ( I did get paid an extra $100 for moving them, so that made it worth it.)
No empties and all they were offering was a reefer loaded with pallets.
I called my DM, he messaged CSR to see if I should take it (because I am now on home time and I would not get that pallet trailer back to Costco until Tuesday). Then I messaged *CSR asking for them to call me.
40 minutes later and still no response, so I bobtailed out.

Got to Inver Grove to park my truck and pick up my car.
There was 12-18 inches of snow covering it (and ice covering the windows), and I think the person plowing piled some in front of my car.
That took about 40 minutes to clear off. I had to use the broom from my truck.

Finally got home at around 2115.

I am SO glad today is over.
Now it is 4 days off.

JOHNQPUBLIC, dptrucker and dwells40 Thank this.

I picked up a Costco load today. The scale there said the tandems were 33,740.
Then I got pulled in to the Iowa weigh station and the tandems were at 34,740. Of course I got pulled in and got a level 2 inspection.
It was just a warning, no citation or fine. I adjusted the tandems and reweighed and everything was good.

There was another driver talking to another officer. They were discussing his logs that had no on duty time for loading and unloading, tarping and strapping, or fueling.
And his med certification had expired in June and hadn't been updated at his DMV yet.
He was there before I got there and was still there when I left. He went out to his truck to try and find his current medical about 10 minutes before I left and had yet to return.

I hope you get paid extra for all those short hops.

And I was considering my next load, at 200 mt and 250 loaded, to be too short.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

Picked it up today and will deliver tomorrow at 1000.
It has a good delivery window, but I didn't want to end up in Des Moines early evening Saturday. Parking is difficult.

    Edwardsville terminal.

That was the first time I picked up a load from a Home Depot store.
This store was closed due to a fire back in December. The DC sent them too much stuff so they were sending most of it back.

My appointment was at 1900 for a live load. I got there at around 1600.
There was a bit of a wait because they were still getting it ready, but I finally got out of there at about 1930.
There was another Swift truck waiting for the dock when I was finished, so both of us probably had a 1900 appointment time.
I'm glad I got there first.

Swift has a habit of scheduling multiple trucks for the same appointment. Don't know if it's the customer or Swift.

A few occasions there were as many as 10 of us there all at the same time.
