Every company has tailgaters , regardless of drivers claiming they have to , they don't it's a choice. Dispatchers can't make you tailgate. That's on the driver's if , " that's what you meant" ! -
Could it be a shortage of equipment preventing them from being able to leave an MT at the facility for the D/H? I know we are short about 10 trailers and 8 trucks right now, and there is no telling when we will get them in. Its not enough to have affected our D/H... yet... but if we lose more equipment along the way without replacements, we're gonna start having some trouble with it.
Just giving another possibility for the changes. -
We no long do that ... that's history all our roller beds are in Versailles now. I told them in Orientation I wasn't hand unloading fridges ... one time they dispatch me on 1 and I called them they took me right off.Lonesome Thanks this.

Latest on my Pohl experience , still there .
No longer using peoplenet as ELD , now using Motive. At 1st it seemed like child's play. As in the difficulty in use , however as We're now over a month almost 2 months in it appears it has more hiccups than people net.
Now this may be coincidental, but prior to motive we had hardly any wait time , and almost instantly we began waiting 1 load to the next. We're in another recession and the timing may just be bad. I still put the office and shop as 2nd to none ... as good as it gets.
Wait time tends to be more than usual right now load to load , however I am not sweating it because Travis & Rick are fair guys to work for. Been around the block many times in this gig in a rig , and POHL is definitely a company that you get out of it what you're willing to put into it. Hard nosed aggressive personalities are probably best off going elsewhere. These people are going to treat ya nicely , however I'm sure at some point pushers get pushed right out the door , and I can't say I blame them for that if it happens.
Still 67 mph trucks ...
still slow at over 75000#s in the hills ...
Still Volvo 860 state of the art in driver comfort .bryan21384 and Lonesome Thank this. -
Miles however are down , since late November early December...
As I said , I'm not sweating it just yet , I've seen slow periods thru Jan & Feb 20 times over 3 & a half decades.
Best gig in a rig I've done since hiring into Jevic in 2001 .bryan21384 and Lonesome Thank this. -
BTW , I forgot to mention... the company gave 2 raises across the board 1 in 21 2cpm more and 1 in 22 2cpm more. I started at 53.5 cpm. I think I'm like 58 5 cpm now with longevity .5 cpm per yr.
The safety bonus is I believe 2cpm ... so ya get your bonus depending on how long your at pohl speaks of like 58 cpm and up.
They get ya home weekends without fail and routed miles home are paid.
Layover is 100.00
Detention pays 20.00 ph after 2 hrs . I think Chewy or Petsmart 1 of the 2 demands 3 hrs ... bs I know , I don't do it enough to let it bother me.
The pay system gives you your choice of straight pay full taxable income or per diem.
Benefits 2 options : No contribution wkly of course higher co pays I'm sure
Or wkly Deductions and lower co-pays.
Dental insurance also
No 401
They do offer ST LT disability insurance.
& company pd life.
I don't believe they have 4 yr old trucks , if they do they're on their way out.Last edited: Jan 16, 2023

I left Pohl 2/14/23 !
I want to reach out to the office personnel and Shop mechanics , it was truly a pleasure for 2 yrs with you all.
I don't know if I'll ever find a nicer group of people to drive for. In almost 36yrs of driving I've never gone back to a company I left, that probably will not change.
But again I thank you all for a pleasant 2yrs.
The drop & hooks were evaporating , too much docking and waiting at pu.'s & del.'s
And regularly running PA got old . Then the truck always assuming you're asleep behind the wheel constantly beeping hooting and barking got the better of my need to just have a peaceful day of driving.CorsairFanboy, Vic Firth, Lonesome and 1 other person Thank this. -
What your not telling everyone is that if you quit within 6mos they hold your last check..why don't you drivers be honest and tell the good and bad.! Pitiful

Really? First of all, he was there for 2 years. If he’s like anyone else, that 6 month deal you’re complaining about doesn’t even come into play. “You drivers”? that sounds like a blanket statement. Maybe some of you job hoppers need to ask the correct questions. Oh yeah, you responded to his last post that’s 20 months old.88 Alpha, Lonesome and rollin coal Thank this.
