Flat bed companies need someone with grip strength, because they figure beating off vigorously is the only way a driver keeps the job from driving them insane.

The clinic or examiner has to put the exam in the system and the 10/21 is no longer valid - only the last one is.

The company has nothing to do with it.

    Offer nothing.

Today at license office I took a # and stood in line(#105). Looking over my form I noticed a LARGE error. Bolted back to clinic to have the error fixed and initialled. Returned to license office as they were calling out #103... fullsizeoutput_8ba.jpeg

In my state and many, if not all other states, AFTER you get a new DOT medical card you have to send a copy to the state and submit a Self-Certification for to the state that declares you are using, or expect to use, your CDL in one of 4 categories, some of which require a DOT exam and one or more do NOT require a valid DOT medical exam.

    TawcoTruck Thanks this.

I volunteer nothing. I also don’t wear my glasses for the vision test. I see better with them, but then I’d have to follow the DOT rules about having two sets of eyewear, etc. if you can pass without, glasses are optional.

Ah ok TY. I'm ignorant to the process I see the link on the state DPS website to email it in. I thought it was invalidated or something since I didn't get the job.

    tscottme Thanks this.

“Self certify” is updating your medical certificate with your DMV..online.

If you were given a medical certificate from the flatbed company then that’s the one you need to use.

    Nothing else matters..

    tscottme and TawcoTruck Thank this.

    Don’t ever list injuries.

Only list surgeries that left obvious scars.

Loss of grip strength is an indication of neuro issues in your limbs or hands. Never ever list that, because that can be construed as you potentially filing a worker’s comp claim against the new employer.

Self-certify is when you get an updated medical card and you go online to update your new info. Since the medical examiner has to update you in the feds’ system, every govt entity can see you’re current on your exam. It’s all transparent and super-easy to do.
