Does a Broker even need or typically have a DOT #. I thought only an MC# is needed. DOT# only if running equipment. First you’ll need a Carrier MC#, then a DOT#, insurance and then you can lease other Carriers onto your Carrier Authority. That’s how it’s done. Most Large Carriers have a Brokerage. It’s a separate entity with its own MC#.
