What’s goin on @bzinger whats the latest? I saw coming across Iowa was a little dicey at best last week with some ice and stuff, I was thinkin about you just seeing if you made it around alright or just said to hell with it and stayed home tinkering in the garage.

Nothing exciting buddy , was off almost 3 weeks around Xmas and had a pricey problem with the APU about that time too ...and I owe uncle Sam 4500.00 so I hit the road and stayed out most of January.
I found the ice you spoke of in sw Missouri last week on my way home , been home for 4 days now and back to work tmw .
I've absolutely nothing to do at home these days so I'm just going to keep moving until the grass greens up with brief visits home until then .
I was a little hard on the plastic on my Xmas vacation too.

The more I study railroads the more I think seeing the country on amtrak appeals to me ...no idiots to deal with on the road and well priced .

I saw a picture of a 990 for Morehouse on FB yesterday. Is that a O/O, or an ne of those things where most companies bought one just to have one?

I read a few weeks ago that they are going to be replacing many of their rail cars on the longer cross country runs as some of the current ones are decades old and to keep updating them isn't cost effective. Said the deal could be a billion dollars if a remember right. Not that it would happen anytime soon.

Going by train always sounded cool, a throwback to what I would consider better, simpler, nicer times. But no way I could ever do it. If I'm going to travel with lots of people it has to be fast and get it over with. Otherwise just give me a 6 pack of Pepsi, a carton of Marlboros and the car keys.
