The UFO abductee? Abducted from Snowflake? You'd think that sorta action would be more common near Roswell, lol... ;)

I have some funny photos taken in Roswell, but they'll have to wait until I get started on my 'Crazy Trucking Daze' thread... right now, it's beer-thirty, and since I haven't had a cold one yet today, I reckon this first sud ain't gonna last long.

I know a guy that looks like Walton. I dont care for the guy I know. So I always imagine him driving down a gravel road in the dark. Suddenly a UFO hovers behind his pickup, shines its lights on it, and pulls it into the ship. Puts him in orbit around Saturn with the 4 way flashers going.

Beats pullin' a reefer wagon all night because some @$$clown didn't like your face and it took all day for the schmuck to load your trailer, lol...

Dang, that cold beer was so tasty, I believe I'll have another... good thing I'm only driving a laptop computer tonight. ;)

I missed this reply earlier, and yeah, it's a modified KLR 650 so it's a bit lighter than the average KLR. I didn't intend to buy a KLR, I was originally looking for a thumper in the 400cc or 450cc class, but this bike came along when I had money to burn and I got a good deal on it. I also reckoned it would pull the grade up to Cloudcroft or Ruidoso no problem, and it does... pretty steep grade in either case, but I can pass other vehicles on this bike (with the exception of full-on rice rockets like I used to ride in San Diego County and Anza-Borrego, lol). Lemme dig up a link to some trail riding pics here in the Sacramento Mountains of New Mexico, and you'll see just how I've put this bike to use since I arrived here...

That should give you an idea of the trail riding we have here in the mountains... some of it is heller good, while other trails are too rocky for this 400+ lb. bike, no need to damage my new Dunlop D606 tires, lol. And those sharp rocks WILL damage tires, I've seen quads with sidewalls ripped apart by 'em, lol. Meh, you choose your trails wisely and it's all good... and with this somewhat heavier bike, I don't ride like a 'Crusty Demon of Dirt' the way I did when I was younger, I ride like a soul surfer and the bike handles very well. I stand on the pegs a lot while negotiating tricky trail sections, so that helps me retain my balance, aye? Deep sand is the greatest nemesis of this bike, due to the bike's weight, but I try to avoid the really deep sandy sections down here in the high desert...

BTW, I'm gonna attend the 'TARANTULA 100' desert race on February 18-19, it's a 100-mile high desert race with all kinds of classes... if I had a lighter bike, I'd probably enter the class for those 60 years of age and older, as I'm no slouch when it comes to twisting a throttle, lol. But with this heavier KLR and all the soft sand on the course at Red Sands (mere minutes from my home), I'd be makin' like Molly Hatchet and 'Flirtin' With Disaster!' Meh, it'll be fun just to watch some riders I met compete in the race, they ride some sweet tricked-out 250s and they've run the race before... moi, I'll pound beers on the sidelines and maybe pull BBQ duty while burnin' some steaks, lol. Take some good photos to post on the web for other riders to enjoy, 10-4?

I'M OFF TO WATCH SOME ENTERTAINMENT ON THE 65" CURVED SCREEN, TOMORROW'S ANOTHER DAY... I'LL BE BACK LIKE A BAD RASH TO PLAGUE Y'ALL FURTHER, LOL. CHEERS!!! ;)

Don't need one, I'm far enough away from the Trinity Site, lol... and also far enough away to dodge the fallout if Holloman AFB or White Sands Missile Range gets bombed, aye?

We DO get some wicked sonic booms from the jets outta Holloman, but that's a small price to pay for the freedom I enjoy here in the Tularosa Basin...

And in geological terms, this is an endorheic basin with no drainage except into the local aquifer(s), so the scumbag politicians and corrupt water district officials can't mess with my community well, lol. ;)

You have no idea how glad I am to no longer live in Kalifornia, lol... I've been living in rural boondock areas for 7 years now, and I'm never going back to life in the Big City, I don't need the aggravation, 10-4?

    Nice unit! I see it's a 2nd gen. They're hard to kill. I own a 1993 KLX650R and a 2022 KLR650. Love them both.
