New truckstops

There are several places that look like a dump, but have good or even phenomenal food. This place has a pretty #### decent restaurant inside. I don't remember if they have showers, but I don't necessarily have a need to take one every day. Especially this time of year.

 

BTW, the Love’s, I-55, Exit 165B, Normal, IL, is open. It has a Bojangles, so I’m sure drivers are going to be flocking in there to grab something to eat.

 

The quality of food offerings at various locations across the country has diminished considerably. As the places started closing or changing over to fast food type operations, the quality also greatly decreased, both at a number of the remaining sit down locations as well as the newer “Food court” type places. Guess it was at least 10 years ago, that eating on the road became 99 percent of food packed with me. Have a fridge, microwave, lunchbox and water boiler. Can cook or heat almost anything. I now eat much healthier and better than years past. It also has a much lower cost, in more ways than one.

 

There are still a LOT of options out there for good food. I haven't been at a stop in last 9 days that had any kind of fast food place, beside the hot case stuff. They have all had actual restaurants. That is going from Omaha, to Washington state, near Yakima, over to Tacoma, down to Portland, back up to Tacoma, and over to Rapid City.

 

Aldi is awesome!

 

I actually like that they’re small and don’t carry a whole bunch of excess stuff (I don’t need, anyway. Haha.). It makes it easy to shoot right in, grab what I need, and get the heck out. Unfortunately, people have caught onto what Aldi is about and my local store is ALWAYS packed.
