I need some input drivers. And input from present or former werner drivers would be ideal.

I been working for Werner for almost a year. Most of that time has been on the family dollar dedicated out of TX.

I recently was offered my old job as a front loader trash hauler back so im moving to portland Oregon in early march. I gave my 2 weeks notice to werner via qCom like i was told todo. I was then told that since im on fam doll that my truck is assigned to the DC and it must be returned there and I must find my own way home. Even though i signed on at the phoenix terminal.

This is what im wondering about:
My last day is this fri the 26th. I do not have the money for bus fair to get back to phoenix. They got me a load to Flagstaff for mon the 22nd. Im going to make all my drops then my plan is to break route and head to the phx terminal, clean out my truck and bail. Will I take a hit on my DAC report for this? Im not abandoning any equipment or load. Im returning the truck to the terminal. Since Im pulling a family dollar trailer would it be considered abandoning it? since it dont even belong to werner? Now mind you im a str8 forward policy following, safety minded guy here but I must do whats best for me and my family. I got a tight window to make it to portland and we got just enough money saved up to do this move. Im counting every penny here. I just dont want this to come back and bite me in the #####. Any input or advice will be appreciated.

Thanks and be safe out there.

Well my $0.02 is that you need to get the trailer back to the DC. Otherwise it could be construed as abandonment of some type.

Look at it this way --- the trailer doesn't belong to Werner, so it doesn't belong at a Werner yard. Werner will have to go fetch it from the terminal if you leave it there.

So........ yeah prolly a mark on your DAC. Weigh all of the options. How long are you gonna stay with the trash thruck? Does it really matter to you what's on your DAC?

well if you don't care about your DAC report and you are planning on staying on with your new company, deadhead to Phoenix and do what you got to do. When i quit Barr Nunn, i drop a load in Atlanta and deadhead straight to Charlotte to drop the truck off. call a cab for a ride to the airport, got a one way rental car and drove back to Florida. Barr Nunn didn't put anything on my Dac. you got to do whats best for you......good luck

They suck for putting you in that type of situation. In my opinion I think that you should just go ahead to phonix. I don't know if you would do this but you could drop a drop yard on the way and dead head to phonix.

Have you tried calling someone higher in the food chain. Keep calling until you reach Mr Werner himself. Maybe the one who makes the decesion will take your side.

I wish you the best of luck. Remember, your qualcom is not your only your only means of communication.

Well ..... ultimately you gotta play it the way that you think is best for you and your family.

Werner seems to be the kind of company that will hit your DAC for just about anything. However, it doesn't seem like that will be a big deal for you in the immediate future.

With customer trailer you are pretty much screwed. Make sure you clean the truck really good before you return it or they will try to charge you to clean it. It doesn't matter how old or run down it is.

Beg or borrow for your trip home. It will suck but after it is all said and done you will feel like a weight has been lifted off of your shoulders. Good luck!!
