Aight so my truck is an 18 Freightshaker 122SD mid roof. I’ve had leaks on each corner of my windshield and in my B pillar since I bought it. I used some silicone and went around areas of the windshield and around the seem where the top of the sleeper meet the roof mainly behind the stacks as I figured the seal was dried out due to heat.

However it stil leaks every time it rains. And Freightliner engineers thought it would be amazing to mount an electrical box (PND) inside the B pillar. We’ll every time it rains I have to open up the access door and get the box out of the way or once it gets wet the truck will not shut off with the key or will randomly shut off just…depends on it’s mood.
Yesterday I went to the streaking beacon and otw out they were rinsing my roof and it sounded like a river inside my roof.

Has anyone ever experienced this and or know where to look to fix it??

    Siinman and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

It is a known problem, you need to have a glass shop remove and reinstall the windshield with proper sealant.

The sleeper gasket (that's what it is called) is another issue if it is not installed properly or in the case where the sleeper is mounted directly on chassis, will wear. If it needs to be replace, the sleeper has to be taken apart and the gasket is replaced from the inside.

But on the sleeper it’s not separate from the cab like on the Pete’s rather it’s like they put the top on separate with a thin gasket where it sits down onto the cab.

Cab light and air horn gaskets is another source of water intrusion.

I drove a mid roof Freightliner that leaked, but the leak was where the attached roof structure was attached to give the unit hi rise sleeper to complete the aerodynamic package.

    It works !!!
But if you screw it up it is NOT coming off.
Silicone breaks down over time and is not as flexible over time.
Polyurethane is what is used to glue in windshields these days.
