Sorry for your loss, Redbeard.
Your friend, if he had dark hair, looks like my old police sergeant. Sarge was a major prick. Really mean. Hostile. If he didn’t speak to me, that was a good day. But he was fair, wouldn’t ever throw anyone under a bus and would stand against his superiors when they tried to throw you under a bus. I have to respect that. Everyone above him was a snake. I learned from him that antisocials are immune to snakes. Apparently, he learned on the job too.
A friend of mine died Jan19. Company sent out a memo that the viewing (that’s another one of those things I don’t get) and funeral will be on Feb17. A whole month? I always thought that funerals were done a week or so after death. Hope this doesn’t turn into one of those Ted Williams things.singlescrewshaker, Flint1, CAXPT and 5 others Thank this. -
I put a new water temp gauge in the old Kenworth yesterday (no, I'm not "starting the restoration"). Plugged it in while I was doing it and lit 'er off when I was done. Vrooooom. Something to be said for old no electronics all mechanical stuff. As long as there's enough oomph to turn the starter....

I had to free up a few injectors on a 2 stroke 8V92T from setting over 10 years. Flushed the heads and primed with fresh fuel, filled the filter up, and it rolled over 3 times and sounded like you drove it yesterday. The mechanicals are hard to beat in that aspect…..singlescrewshaker, Flint1, beastr123 and 10 others Thank this. -

Getting some business cards made up this week. We've been talking about doing it for a while but finally getting around to it. Hitting up all the local places around town.
We were doing a shuttle, DC to DC, same companies on both ends. The broker lost the account. (again), this is the 2nd time they lost it, we didn't do it for a long time before they got it again) I got shafted on MLK day and not a soul was in the parking lot at 1am except for the dude in the guard shack. I got one of the higher ups # from the guard. I'd love to snatch this up, some weeks they get 2 loads a day but usually 4-6 loads a week. The higher up I talked to apologized that I went down and nobody was there. No communication from the broker once again. He's the one that said this broker won't be doing this anymore.
Throw on the extra 25-30 percent that the broker is making and you can run that without having to worry about getting something back and if you do that's a bonussinglescrewshaker, CAXPT, Feedman and 4 others Thank this. -
The misses just saw that place on google and said “don’t you get any ideas”.
