Good day just curious to find out if the DT-12 automatic is reliable and the maintenance on one and the issue they might be having looking to buy a used one would rather a manual transmission but they are hard to come by!!

Absolutely love the dt12s. Clutches last at least 850k miles. Change oil every 300k miles. It easy to work on. You cannot kill them unless of course you tow it without dropping drive shaft. Which then you burn it up. Best transmission there is in my opinion. I wont have nothing else but them in our fleet.

Thanks for information I was looking at a 2019 heard they have issues after 500,000 with going into gear I prefer manual but they are hard to find.

Yeah the splinter pin deal is the cause of that. Easy fix. Its what you prefer.
