Where did you move to? I'm thinking about leaving Toronto myself, I'll never be able to afford the $1,000,000 houses here. I get $23 an hour in the GTA and work over 300 hours a month to make it by.

MB is opening a new DC in Oshawa by Ritson and the 407 next year. They'll need more drivers because they're getting more work. Be cheaper to live east or north of the GTA.

I've never understood the obsession with places like Toronto and Vancouver. You can have a much better quality of life just about anywhere else in the country.

There's outfits around Edmonton paying $350/day to drive a straight water truck. $500/day if you want to run a hydrovac. If you're ok with a 20-30 minute commute into town you can get a nice house and garage for sub-$350k.

way up in northern ontario is very cheap, east cost or western canada like Alberta or MB . You better hurry up through i hear everyone else has also figured it out and the masses are leaving ontario for places like Alberta

If you lived within a hr drive of tim hortons in Guelph i would say apply there they need drivers for store deliveries big time and start off at $30 a hr up to $33.70 in 3 years and only 4 day work weeks. I had a phone interview on monday for a line haul gig and a in person interview on friday . Unfortunately there’s only one spot and was informed on tuesday that they hired someone for it

It's pretty easy to make good money trucking in Alberta.

I see adds alm the time looking for 2 years experience and pay will average between 90-110,000$ a year depending on how hard you want to run.

I work regional and get hourly pay.

I worked 10.5 months in 2022 - by choice - and made very good money, was home weekends. Weekdays I had volunteered to run Edmonton to Prince George on a big job we were doing, so was away three nights a week. But hotel every night and $50 loa. We only have day cabs which I like.

I've thought about Alberta honestly, seems like a great place to live. Just seems extremely cold haha. Thanks for your feedback.
It's amazing how many people I know including myself are slaving it away just to pay rent and live in Toronto. Northern Ontario doesn't seem like a bad option either but I'd prefer Alberta. Hopefully Alberta doesn't turn into the cesspool that the GTA has turned into over the years. I saw tim Hortons hiring as well, I'm about 40 minutes from Guelph.

Edmonton at first, but an hour+ north of the city now to be close to the yard.
