The company I do cvips for is also a 2400acre family farm.
He will whine over a $500 leaking master cylinder, but says not much over a 10k green tractor repair bill.

I think I'm going to be in for quite a learning curve. I'm ready for the challenge though.

You'll be alright. It's the parts department that's totally clueless it seems like. Our last red piece is getting traded for green as soon as we find what we're looking for.

    2 sections is 1280 acres.
Most "small" farmers running older equipment are farming under 3 or more sections it takes 3 sections or more to pay for newer equipment.

@D.Tibbitt if you had to take a business trip to Paris France and learned that many that live there believed that we all are ‘Fat Stupid Americans,’ would that impact your attitude of the locals? How would you prepare for this trip?

The mobile service guys that work for the big ag shop here seem pretty happy. Lots of hours during the farming season.

If I remember right the farmer that bought my T800 was working almost 20,000 acres in eastern Washington.

Me personally I don't think it would effect me at all mentally.. If I'm on a business trip then I'm going there with the intent of doing business, whatever that may be. I would be all about business and nothing more... I guess if the people I was trying to do business with, had that perception of me, maybe it might be a hurdle to get over to close a deal, but nothing that couldn't be overcome with showing of good honest ethics and respect for their culture...

regardless, I would respect their culture and learn as much as I can about it before even leaving on that trip. try to learn some phrases or common words in the French language to show my respect towards their people and to practice their greetings... I think respect is the most valuable thing you can offer someone and I think that's why most Americans get that nasty perception when they visit other countries, because they don't give that respect or learn the culture before travelling and go there with their bad American, me me me attitudes.
