When I go to Laredo, at the TA and J, some of the ladies drive around selling homemade Tamales. I like them, and helping out young families is nice.

Is this what eating there is like?

Sirscrapntruckalot Thanks this. -
Fresh is always best, which is why "Subway" became so popular, what I found with truck driving is not so much the lack of food, it was being able to park somewhere with a 53" trailer to actually access the food in the first place.

The Akai Travel Center just west of Laramie, WY (exit 290 on I-80) has a decent Indian restaurant.
Side pipes Thanks this. -
That place has no business being that good , I have not been there in a year or so but I always try to make time for it. [ Edit to say I just checked the reviews on Google maps and it may have gone downhill . If you go make sure its during dayshift. A few years ago it was stellar]
The one on I80 near Laramie is hit or miss , I think they change cooks a lot . I got there at closing one night and they were cooking the staff meal . I asked if I could get in on it , he grudgingly agreed , warned me it would be spicy, then tossed in a bunch more goat meat and some veg to make up for my portion.
It was right at the peak of my spiciness level (which is very high) but it was outstanding. I gave them a huge tip in hopes that I would be remembered but sadly there was a new cook the next time I went in.Last edited: Mar 19, 2023

I tried this spot last weekend, it was excellent. Right across from the TA/Pilot in Perrysburg, OH. Highly recommended. Open late too!!! They don't have room for trailers so either walk or bobtail over from the truckstops.
Still undecided Thanks this. -

Hwy `17 Ontario Ca Km Truckstop The chill and fill Punjabi Restaurant 420 km stick (or so) has Indian food. Husky truck stop Dryden On Hwy 17 offers Indian food.
Indian food is very easy to make at home, store in your cooler and keeps well. I dont live out of cooler but we bring Indian meals on fishing trips for its ease of packing. Leaves plenty of room in the fridge for essentials like BEER!!Still undecided Thanks this.
