Is it possible to replace the non serviceable crank case ventilation spinner [ not available to buy ] with the older filter unit ?

The early ccv filter modules were non serviceable to include EPA 13 and early EPA 17. Newer engines have a replaceable filter element and the CCV modules must be removed from the engine to replace the filter. The older non filter modules are obsolete and you must install a newer module with a serviceable filter if it fails.

The new replacement modules are indeed on the hard to get list and have just started trickling in for at least 6-10 I have had on B/O for some time.

Your ccv is not spinning as 1000rpm is the default value in Davie. Check power and ground to the module. Spinner motor is likely open/shorted. You need a new module most likely. The new module will have a replaceable filter.

They did not tell me that at kw. Just said can't get them and mine was not serviceable. Did not mention new ones had a filter. Said it was the old ones that had it.
Well I may have found a filter model but it has a 3k price tag on it .

I recon I will take it off and open it up and see if I can clean the gunk out of it. Then see if it spins after that.
Unless that unit I found will work on it.

Yup. Newer part has a replaceable filter element.

I have never disassembled one. It was always an issue with the motor and that they do not spin, as you already found.

I took it off today. A lot more work than that .9 hr paccar claims. Evidently they never pulled one off a Pete 579.
I took it apart to take a look and see how bad it had gunked up. It was clean. Must be burnt out .
Guess I'll find out when I put new one on

Good day, I dont know if this is the correct forum but I'm trying to get some advice on a paccar mx13...
I have an issue with main bearings. The engine spun the mains in december, I had them replaced. Now after a month and a half it spun the mains again. It had new oil and filters. Does anybody have any experience with a similar issue on paccar engines?
    Thank you.

Block must be replaced. If the bearings spun the block is damaged beyond new bearings.

Thank you for your reply, the strange thing is that it only spins the bearing on the 4th journal. All the rest are fine.

#4 is the first main to get oil. It’s also the first one to get any trash or debris if anything make it past the filter.

Did your mechanic roll in all new mains with the crankshaft still installed? Just do #4?

End of the day it really doesn’t matter. If they spun it needs a short block minimum.
