agreed......I drove for an agent for the better part of 7 years, just quit him at the end of October...

I pulled vans although he is a specialized carrier who does mostly flat, steps, and the big loads w/escorts etc.

At Landstar you better get in good with an agent if your going to survive bottom line.....I saw first hand how the game is played there and you #### straight better know someone..Landstar will tell the agents don't play favorites and they have to offer you alll available freight thats total ########..

Does it not work the same way with Brokers, you do better if you know a few and earn their trust instead of just taking leftovers off load boards.

if you can survive the first 90 days you'll be ok

but the first 90 is a killer, having to learn the load board, and frieght lanes is no small task

    I like them

Not sure what Landstar is paying per mile i did a couple of jobs for them a few years ago. i had a friend/customer call me two weeks age to see if i could make a run down to Baltimore from Boston, 400 miles Landstar wanted $2000.00 that comes out to $5.00 bucks a mile. What will they give the O O 1.50 - 2.00 someone is making money.
