Not really the lift axle I wanted but it was available on a quick notice.

This truck doesn’t have a double frame so I’m not real crazy about the extreme weight, just need to do a job right now.

Found a heavy 3/8” frame with axles still under it, think I’ll go back and measure the length to see if it long enough. Thinking about building my own custom heavy haul truck….

Need or want a hand. Just a few hours away Capt. Have a few thoughts. No a double frame isn't needed for random jobs.

I personally look how I could remove a axle or 2. But thats my operation.

Disc brakes are worth every penny. Traded in my last truck with 500K and still running original pads in the rear. Did the fronts twice. Took longer get get the hub caps off than it did to swap the pads.

I just know that it seems like the trucks with drums seem to get replaced once a year and 50% of the time it seems like the drum gets smoked too. That could also just be company drivers running #### until it makes bad noises too.

Was kinda mad they don't offer disks for the pusher on my current truck.

They are also much less susceptible to brake fade if you ride the brakes.

Of course he was right - it is the same path everyone goes down.

disc brakes are awesome - I had them on my big trailer. Nothing better really - wish I had them on my new trailer.

now you are going to need to upgrade all your chains and binders to 1/2” / 5/8”

    good luck!

Already upgraded my chains and binders, need to upgrade on a trailer I guess lol.

Trying to get the permit ordered to move it now, since it will be over 120,000 it’s considered a super load here in WV.

Bridge engineer called me back yesterday and give me a couple options to avoid going to Charleston and down 119 to Williamson, then across the river into Kentucky and back up 23 to I-64. See what happens I guess….
