Usually folks that have those trucks serve a niche market. They don't accept light loads. That is just the specific freight they haul. Heck, my truck is 34k. I haul heavy though. So I just permit for the weight. My truck and trailer empty is 85K.

What is not to get. With my truck, trailer, stinger and jeep, I am 85 empty. I'm not a box jockey.

You would always be home in that truck. When the time comes to give up trucking, you could register the truck as a motor home.

 

Just the tractor alone has more square footage than my little cabin.
