Thank you for this. I've had my eye on them for a while because I live fairly close to one of their terminals, but I didn't see anything about pets on their website. So thank you for letting me know.

I have seen a driver with fairly big dog, think pit bull sized, but it would be best to confirm what is the max size they allow and any deposit upfront for truck damage/cleaning etc. I don't have any info about that stuff.

Those high roof condo tractors have been replaced. I only see mid roof now. Even the trainer trucks are mid roof.

I'll definitely ask them about all that. But my dog might weigh 10 lbs soaking wet, so she definitely won't have any problem with whatever their weight limit is.

I believe Indian River carries food-grade product and sometimes food-grade alcohol, which is their only HazMat. I am not sure IRT ever hauls chemicals. As a former pet-carrying driver I can assure you seeing a pet in a company truck doesn't always mean the company allows pets to ride along. I saw lots of unauthorized pets in the trucks of my long-term employer that would instantly fire a driver for having ANY unauthorized passenger/rider. They considered carrying a pet or carrying a hitchhiker to be instant firing events, even if anyone disagreed with that policy. The real answer to "are pets allowed to ride along" only comes from the company safety dept. Lots of answers to "does ABC Company allow pets" comes from drivers who saw a pet in an ABC truck and without authorization.

Some companies have a breed restriction, in addition to weight limit for a pet. Lots of tanker customers have very restrictive entry requirements, and some customers inspect the tractor before entry for contraband and riders.

Taking a pet with you on the road is awesome. I highly recommend it, if allowed.

We regularly haul D-limolene which is a class 3 flammable.

Pets are definitely allowed at IRT. There is even a tub of free doggie treats on the dispatch counter at Winter Haven HQ.

Having said that, I don't see any cat or snake treats being offered so maybe only dogs are welcome here.

Haz Mat Environmental Group has double bunk sleepers mostly KW, and they own the Buffalo NY Kenworth Dealer. They transport Hazardous Waste across the country.
