Ironbutt.org
They are the iron butt association. The rides I was referring to are qualifying rides. They hold a rally every 2 years. Usually about 11000 miles in 11 days. Choose your own adventure points system. I've read a few stories. 1 guy got to his checkpoint in bella coola BC. His next checkpoint was in Maine.
I've never heard of the hokahey. I'll be lookin that up now.
They guy who held the record for Anchorage to the Florida keys on a motorcycle was an American. He rode a Ducati with an aux fuel cell. He put in a cathoder.
I'm nowhere near that dedicated. Even when trucking I always had time to stop and whiz. I never understood the jug thing.

5 of us did the Saddle Sore 1000 a few years back. Met a guy at a Victory rally from WI I believe and he did 49 states in 10 days and many other Iron Butt rides that were impressive. He had a website that showed all of his routes / miles / times but I forgot what it was called now.

Some of the stories are impressive. Guys sleeping on picnic tables (I've done that), getting DQ'd at the finish line for missing a checkpoint etc.
I did the 1000 and the 1500 about 15 years ago.
My family and I were driving in BC between Nakusp and New denver about 10 years ago. I saw a dude pinned in the ditch under a Bmw gs.
My wife and I got the bike off of him and stood him up. His name was Murph. He was riding around the world. His blog was "Where the hell is murph". I followed him for a bit. But he stopped posting years ago.
I met this dude as well. He wrote a book about riding solo around the world. Great book. He's from Edmonton. He runs an African motorcycle tour company now.

Can we get a amodelcat YouTube series ? Always like following along with guys who work on tractors.. Zkmastertech is pretty good Deere mechanic . Works on all the new stuff.. Don't know what the hell he's saying half the time with some of the parts and systems but cool to watch nonetheless
