"Shops" these days can't even handle a tire repair most of the time. Really starting to wonder what they even do anymore. I finally got to the point that I carry rimmed spares and the tools to repair them myself.
The loves in Sioux Falls refused to even come out when I had a flat drive tire at the WB South Dakota scale on 90. Just wanted him to come out and pull the inner off so I could keep rolling for the night. He said they can't so that because all tire must be in good repair. Told him that all 17 would be in good repair and it was no different than running a super single. Even had the trooper in the scale tell him it was OK over the phone. He refused and said nope its illegal we can't do that. Trooper was just as confused as me. Wound up spending the night at that scale because it took 6 hours to get somebody out there. Now I carry a 20T air jack an an impact in the truck.
Their only interest was in trying to sell me a garbage tire for twice as much as a new one. They didn't have the 16ply 11r24.5s in stock so anything I bought would've been scrap as soon as I got home. Had 5K lbs on the deck at the time so weight wasn't an issue on a single.Phoenix Heavy Haul, singlescrewshaker, Feedman and 11 others Thank this. -
I too have been carrying my air Jack and 1” impact. I been switching trailers so much lately and forgot to put the spare on this trailer, or I could have been rolling earlier.
There is a semi turned over in the construction zone just a few miles north of me, happened around 5:00 today and the road is still closed.
One driver said he been out there setting for over 3 hours…..Flint1, singlescrewshaker, Feedman and 6 others Thank this. -
Didn’t they shut down their tire pass thing?Flint1, singlescrewshaker, CAXPT and 1 other person Thank this.

This stuff is fantastic.Flint1, singlescrewshaker, CAXPT and 3 others Thank this. -
No clue. Never used it. Too many axles usually so they wouldn't touch it. Do I really trust some random quick lube dude to properly hook up all 18 hoses and not just half deflate one of my tires? I only go to loves as a last effort usually. The best part of Loves is that they tend to put their scales in a good spot to run a big load through. The hard part is getting them to figure out how to split weigh.Flint1, singlescrewshaker, Feedman and 9 others Thank this.

Had a friend that was using the tire pass for 7 axles.
I made the mistake of pulling into the Loves in Prescott AR, and it took an hour just to pull back out. I would only bobtail into a Loves as a last resort. I have never figured out why so many “drivers” will be backed out into the road, waiting to get into the first 3 fuel islands, and the last four completely empty.Flint1, exhausted379, singlescrewshaker and 8 others Thank this.
