I've been running to Boston once a week lately, coming across 84 from Scranton straight through NY state and CT.

I did 4 of these in January, meaning 4 trips west to east through CT and then back east to west next day.

Just paid that new HUT for the month is it was $61.50 for CT miles, I don't remember the exact miles.

To compare, this is ONE month. My usual IFTA for all states I run per quarter comes to about $250 per quarter (except the separate filings for NY and KY).

So, to be clear, CT ALONE is going to cost me $240 per quarter when ALL other IFTA filings per quarter add up to around $250? What a joke.

    Highway Use Fee.

    Looks like .10 a mile
I don't like it either.. just more paperwork. Be so much easier if they just adjusted their ifta rate a bit instead. I'm sure there's government inefficiencies that prevent ifta money going to whatever this new HUT is supposed to pay.

I refuse to get onboard with Connecticut and I’m in the process of closing out my business with NY.

Everything north of PA and NJ you can have :)

Yep I have not been in CT since the new tax. I have bid on loads but not gotten them. I have added $500 Extra just to deal with paperwork on any load that goes from my State.

I’ve actually got to file mine today, only time I run through there now is when I run east of Sturbridge, I’ll gladly do the extra 14 miles to go to Albany and bang a right to get to Springfield, and my ifta is up 2 tenths to to compensate for the toll, never mind less headaches from traffic

just double checked, it’s 14 miles longer to do 87-84 vs 287-684, it’s 34 miles to run 87 to 90, but since doing it, my ifta is up since All I have to pull is blanford now and not fishkill/Waterbury, Danbury etc, never mind the traffic, also the tap (or whatever slimeball politician it’s named for now) has gone through the roof for a toll.

87-84 is the cheapest toll wise but you do nothing but burn fuel going up and down, 287 pot holes will shake the truck apart,

Still got hit with $41 and change for the month
