Like i said...pay attention, and you are the one that put it out again without comprehension:

    Quote:
The posts you presented weren't all posted on the same day...awareness off all points is required for full comprehension in any discussion...not looking and responding with blinders on...also there is no need for false bravado using vulgarities. Often is the case when shown incorrect, for the mistaken and misinformed to lash out with name calling. Not very impressive at all.

False bravado? Who or what in your opinion am I trying to mislead here? What would be my motive, and what to I have to gain here? I stated several facts, and offered advice nothing more, and before you go acting all high mighty and innocent. Lets remember, I wasn't even talking to you. YOU jumped me, I simply defended myself.

How about you and your trucking company. Seems to me like you're the one always bragging about this trucking company you own. Except, anybody that owns a trucking company would know better than to replace a perfectly good set of drive tires simply because they don't match the brand new set beside them. Anybody that owns a trucking company would know that company drivers whine and cry like there is no tomorrow when they don't get their way. You seem oddly unaware of this fact. Talk about false bravado...

Oh well, this is the internet you can be who ever you want to be on here :biggrin_255:

Apparently you have a talent for gleaning information from out of nowhere. I have never, in the entire time on this forum, mentioned anything even close to stating my position or my holdings. And your opinion of "all' company drivers are whiners and criers...not true if the company treats and pays their drivers properly. As for the tires, since you weren't there to check the condition and/or tread depth you don't have any more or less information than the rest of us. I made no mention about the "matching" of the tires...I said to call road service judging by what was said by the OP, I wouldn't know except by the coin example if the tread depth was 4/32nds or not.:biggrin_2558:

Not to jump back to orginal gripe on this thread, but honestly it appears both sides (driver and USA) are trying to work this out. The driver was right not to driver the truck. He got ahold of a POS that had apparently been abandoned.
Let's look a USA's response. Their initial response to pay a ticket (good luck on that really occurring) and drive it to a terminal was wrong. The driver countered with the right move, "no". USA then did the right thing and got crappy tires replaced.
Now it is real easy to beat up on USA. But I bet the prior driver('s) to this particular truck are far more to blame. Yes, I drove for USA, and my experience was that the trucks were summoned for a PM about every 1-1 1/2 months, depending upon mileage. They checked the tires and batteries religiously among all the other routine maintenance.(and would replace anyone in a skinny minute). Give them a little credit, they did give a 2009 truck out, how are they to know that these clowns are apparently on the demolition derby circuit and are pigs. The fact that they are trying to repair the truck is somewhat a good sign. When I was there they used to have 4-5 spare hoods sitting around the major terminals..........can't imagine why?
I'll just bet this truck has not been into terminal maintenance for a while. Would be interesting to know.

Did you even read my last post?? Or did you fail reading comprehension? I took the truck to OH after having the tires verified as safe. I spent the weekend cleaning it and I cooperated with the co to get the truck repaired. Basically you are throwing the BS flag on my actions and the advice of other drivers here.

That might be your world, it's not mine..:biggrin_25522:

I went back and reread some of your posts in this thread. Why bother posting at all if you offer no help or advice? I wasn't looking to be berated for being a "steering wheel holder" or a "newby". I simply asked for advice from experienced drivers about being safe and legal. Why do you supertrucker types feel the need to come out and cr@p on people's threads?? Fortunately most of the drivers here are not like that and I appreciate/respect their help.

Thanks Thehousethatpeterbilt, I'm still at the hotel while the truck gets fixed. Hopefully, I'm cleared to drive today. Once I'm up and running, I can give a more accurate assessment of the miles and income. There is another thread about USA that gives me cause for concern, I'm going in with a positive attitude, if it works out, great, if it doesn't, I'll be looking again.

Good luck in your research and career as a driver.

That quote was from house-that-peter-bilt but I second it. The debates on here about what to do are typical of those that go on in your head as you try to decide what the heck to do in various situations out there on the road. It's quite stressfull being paid by the mile and not rolling, seeing few people willing to do much to help you get rolling w/ freight even if it's ostensibly their job to do so. You'll be alright, just keep cool, but care.

I'd be interested on seeing if they keep you in that Pro-star or toss you into a 9400.

I've worked at USA twice and both times I got a 9400. Guess I'm just lucky.

I wonder if they'll re-cap those skins, or just send you out on them. I noticed you said they wanted to "make you legal", but you didn't say if the tires went on or not. I'd wager you're probably gonna stay on them for a while longer.

Yes USA has tons of Pro-star hoods in OH. In fact they pretty shamelessly canibalize other trucks. I've seen them rip the bumper off a brand-new, yet to be liveried, Prostar to replace a cracked front end in the shop. And there are a ton of "Zombie" 9400's in The Black Hole.

Sleep with one eye open,,, OR THEY'LL GET YOU!
