Here is a driver placement service called PDI that serves only Texas. I came across this today while surfing the local craigslist transportation section. They have 3 positions posted for flatbed in Hillsboro - local or regional. I'm not promoting nor know anything of their services except they look to be a job placement services, not a temp agency.>> http://www.platinumdrivers.com/
I also know of a local company that is hiring here in Waco. Paid hourly and mainly runs to Austin or DFW area FL pulling 57'. They will start you at a local temp agency. I have worked for these folks before, they seem to be nice and decent to work for. Turkman, if your interested in this position, send me a PM and I will forward you the information.
Hope this helps ya,
RT

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Who is hauling Livestock around Austin? You got a number for them?
-
Sorry, I don't know any bull haulers in the area. There is a stockyard around Jarrell, right on I-35 before you come into Georgetown. Maybe you could find some information by visiting that stockyard ? Hope that helps, RT

If you are willing to move 60 miles south to San Antonio, you may find more opportunities.
-
YankeTexan, you "Aint from around here are ya"? There is NO oil field work around Austin. All Oil Field work comes from down around Houston, up around Dallas, or out West (Abilene / Snyder / Midland).
I still wanna know who that guy was talking about haulin cows. -
Oilfield in Texas died out 2 years ago when the Barnett Shale played out
With Coke closing in Austin and San Angelo the competion for drivers
in South Texas will be even harder.
The drivers with acouple recent years doing local sales/P&D will be prefered over a 10yr OTR Driver.
Head out to Bergstrom and knock on some doors, land a dock job for the time being.Something opens and your already in the door.
