This is why most people absolutely disgust me. My dogs are better behaved than alot of drivers. There is no respect, courtesy, or professionalism at all in this job. It really is sad. There is no, seriously no excuse for smelling like the armpit of a french homeless person, throwing your trash and piss bottles on the ground, etc. I would never, I stress never step out of my truck and enter any place of business in pajamas. I will never understand this behavior. It's just pure disrespect and laziness. I guess my mama raised me right because I always say please and thank you, hold doors for people, keep neat and clean appearance, etc. Slobs make me sick. Wow, I'm ranting but there is just no excuse for adults behaving like this holding professional jobs. Once again the dregs of society ruin it for the competent ones.

What you write here pretty much sums up modern society as a whole. I think with the internet and the shift to a consumerism society, humanity and respect have gone out the window. Just think back to 15-20 years ago on how kids were disciplined vs the free rein they have now. I was a military brat and on a first name term with my dad's leather belt. Now kids get iPhones, DVD players in the family car, computers, Starbucks cards, ect ect, why should anyone learn humility and respect when the world revolves around them??

Some of it is not WalMart's fault... they don't always own the entire location that their stores are located in. In more than one place, I've noticed that the management company that runs the mall that a WalMart is located in prohibits 18-wheelers from parking there.

    Solutions...

    1. A real quick in-and-out for just what you need.
    2. Park in the delivery area - usually their store deliveries are in the wee hours.
    3. Clean-up some of the mess that the jerks who are convincing store managers to give us the boot are leaving behind.
    4. Be an ambassador - go find the store manager, thank him for being a good sport viz allowing you to park there, and don't abuse the privilege.

Oh yeah.....I don't care what anyone says, things were better 15-20 yrs ago. Nothing wrong with the ole belt or hand on the behind. Kept me in line and honestly I wouldn't want to be a kid or raise a kid now. I was taught a good work ethic, respect for others etc. I guess I must officially be getting old cause I want to say "well back in my day....":biggrin_2556:

The walmart store in Yankton SD. will let you park on the north side of their lot, providing you keep your area clean.

My mom lives in Plainview,TX.she told me no trucks allowed in that Wal-Mart they even did a story in the local newspaper announcing it.
She told me once the wrecker hooks up to it is $400.00 even if you come out the store before he leaves which has happened several times.:biggrin_25513:

The walmart in Benton Harbor, MI at exit 29 on 94 (one exit before Flying J) is totally trucker friendly. For some reason there is a large expanse of parking that is never used by cars no matter how busy the place is, where trucks park. But it's painted with lines for cars and adornd with no truck parking signs. I used to work there, and I remember one time it got real windy, and the flying j apparently filled up. had 15 or 20 trucks parked over there. They don't care. There's even people who leave trucks there for weeks at a time. I assume they have permission. Walmart does own the property. However, the place is not friendly to find unless you know where it is. Directions: From flying J, turn left (AWAY from the freeway), at the second stop light (Pipestone & Napier), turn left onto pipestone. Make a right at the last light before I-94. You'll see it. You can get to it off exit 29 too, but thats if the flying j is full and you need it. Hehehe.

wreckers are the biggest scam on earth.

Same thing happened to me in Dayton, Oh. What makes it even more infuriating is that I live and pay taxes there. Walmart on I70 exit 38. I stopped there, met the wife and kids, we ate dinner at the Bob Evans there. I came back out, got in my truck, was sitting there drawing lines in my log book, getting ready to take off, when a Sandy's Towing truck pulled up, backed up to the nose of my truck. I got out to tell him I'm leaving, he ignored me, and proceeded to put his hooks on my truck, while I'm standing there yelling expletives at him . After he lifted my drives off the ground, he told me he wanted $150 to put it back down, otherwise it would be $300 after he drags it back to his yard. Well, I called the police. The cop showed up, and backed him up. I had to pay. That whole town, Huber Heights, has a no truck parking ordinance, and has a deal with Sandy's towing. It doesn't matter if it's Walmart, the Meijer's on the north side of I70, or any of the shopping centers off of exit 36. (there is a target there) If a Sandy's truck happens to drive by, you are toast. They don't care if you are sitting behind the wheel with the motor running. Because I was.
