I was hoping to hear something about them myself. I was thinking about giving them a try myself, just want to see if anybody has ran for them.

Just got hired on with Hoffman. I start on Monday. They haul salad loads out of Jessup Md and Harrisburg Pa up to the North East. They pay 23% of the load. The average salad load is paying anywhere between 950 to 1400. The backhauls pay between 550-1000. They run you hard. They only have 65 trucks. They only hire when they need to fill a position. Being that they are a small company there safety dept is very understanding of what a driver must do to make their deliveries. What that means for you is, Nobody on your back about logs. I was about sold once I heard that. I am use to running for the bigger companies that will plan you on runs that require an 18 hour workday yet somehow expect you to do it in within H.O.S. This company understands what we go through because virtually everyone on the inside was a driver. I mean almost everyone. On my second day of orientation I met John Hoffman the owner of the compay. What a down to earth guy. Very unassuming and humble. Not what you would expect right? His son Tim, is a dispatcher for the company. If a driver calls off guess who's running that load? Tim Hoffman? Yeah that's right. That is the kind of operation they are running there.Very hands on and family oriented.

So I just got back from my first run with hoffman. I picked up a load right next door at conway in greencastle. This load went up to a conway terminal up in rochester ny. The run paid the truck 815. Of that I got 23%. Next they routed me to general mills in Buffalo Ny. I got loaded there and headed down to Sysco in Baltimore. This load paid the truck 880. Again, of that I got 23%. Same percentage even for backhauls. To give you an idea of how much they keep you moving, this was all done in a 30 hour period. For all intents and purposes this is how you are dispatched for every load. I am very happy thus far. I go back out around 4 am.

    Miles_Of_Truckin Thanks this.

I'm sure you noticed Con-way has two terminals surrounding you there - the main one was built on property they purchased from Hoffman and the second one is leased from Hoffman. Once in a while when I'm there, I see the outside carrier sheet and you guys have quite a few set schedules running out of there up to the Northeast and NY State.

Yeah we do. Hoffmans been doing some of there runs up to Rochester and other various terminals. I'd say say Mon-Fri we have about 9 conway loads a night that go up. We also go down to your terminl in Jessup Md. This added frieght has really helped the company out the last few mos. Our primary bread and butter are the salad loads we pick up from Taylor Farms and Fresh express. Hoffman has treated me pretty good the last week, but I do see you conway guys busting your ### 24-7 right next door. You guys stay busy. I'm sure that is what keeps you guys there. Take care

Their DriverSEA score is a little scary. Do they get inspected a lot?
