    Yes. Drop the loaded tanker, grab empty and head back down. Of course if no empties, got to wait unless you're told to bobtail.

    Tanker customers tend to be more lenient in my experience. I think it's just the nature of the truck drivers they are used to dealing that dictates the receivers behavior.

    There is one regular customer I go to that bottles the juice and ships it out by reefer. The guys over by shipping are downright rude and unhelpful. One guy in particular, I would even say has a nasty attitude whenever I have the misfortune of speaking to him.

    Talk to the tank receiver guys and you would never think they are both employed by the same company.

    It's hard to put into words, you just tend to receive better treatment from customers when doing tanker than I did doing reefer or dry van. Sad to say, but think that is partially due to the type of driver the customer encounters.

    First load I pulled for Indian River a few years ago is what I imagine going to Chick Fil A for the first time after many years of “what do you want, I can’t believe you’re making me do my job”. Except that one security guard at the orange juice plant in Tipton, CA. Always a much more pleasant experience than lumpers or whatever.

    Yeah, security can be hit or miss. Chances are they work for an outside company anyway and have to deal with way more different types of truck driver personalities/attitudes than the actual tank receiver.

    Thankfully I don't have any dealings with security at my usual customers.

    Excuse me for being a newbie with tanker how' do scales work with tnkr? Same 80k total, 34k on trailer axles? You guys have fixed or sliding axles to adjust for weight?

    I thought you only did dairy loads out of vlovi
    I remember reading a lot of your indian river post from the old thread in 2011 I wasn't evening a truck driver then

    Generally most tanker customers at least ones I’ve loaded tankers at before have you load on a scale so they know exactly how much you weigh as you’re being loaded..but in general tanker customers are usually pretty good at knowing how many gallons of product to load to keep you legal..

    Trailer axles are fixed. If you are over on the axles, company pays the fine. The product weight listed on the BOL is pretty accurate so as long as you roughly know your empty weight, you can figure out if you will be over gross.

    This, and also those that don't have a scale on site will want an empty weight scale ticket from you before they load.

    The weight of liquid is a constant and there are no variables like packing materials or different type pallets to affect the calculation of total load weight.
