Hi guys, I have a 2019 Volvo VNL with a stock LED headlight assembly. It's an old Sheetz truck from PA. Dash has a notification saying "left low beam malfunction." The drivers side low beam headlight does not work. High beam works fine. Any idea what the problem is from the dash notification before I start throwing parts at it? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Start with changing the bulb. You should probably carry a spare anyway. If that doesn't fix it, check the pins at the connector and wiring leading back to the LCM. If there is no signal from the LCM, then I would think the module is faulty. If you can't find a replacement LCM, then you can try getting power from the other headlight, or installing a separate fused switch from the battery.

Volvo's headlight plugs get burnt easily, if the inside of the plug is black it will keep knotting out headlight bulbs.

2019 is the new LED headlights, correct? I didn't think you could change a bulb on those.Another Canadian driver, Siinman, flood and 1 other person Thank this.

You might be right, I don't have any hands on experience with the newer gen Volvos. That's a pretty poor deal if you have to go to the dealership to get a new headlight, instead of just finding the nearest auto part store or truck stop to replace a bulb. But that sounds like the new standard business model for every large corporation.86scotty and Another Canadian driver Thank this.

That is right. LEDs in a closed case can't replace bulbs. Have to replace the entire light assembly.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

and it costs 2x what the older halogen assembly did.
body shop wanted $750.00 and upped it to $1200.00 when they learned it was LED
Time to look for corroded +/or burned plugs in the wiring, as well as, the grounds...Another Canadian driver and Siinman Thank this. -
Yep this was my thought, most likely is gonna be a burn or a ground issue. If it is a ground issue it will start messing with other stuff as well.Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

I was told there is a light control module. Could that be the problem?Another Canadian driver Thanks this.

Might be but I would really look for a ground issue. On my 2014 I had not the same of course, but it melted the fog light wires and caused a bunch of ground issues. Might take a part some of it and try and find any wires having issues.
