Starting fluid to clean, run it then let dry.

    Motor oil to lube.

Still using the IR 231 of my dads. He gave it to me in 95 when I started workin on trucks

    BennysPennys and W923 Thank this.

I have used ATF for the last 30 years. I also have an IR231 that is old enough to vote/smoke/swear.

The 231 seems to be a good one. Mine has lasted 10 years and still going strong.
My 2235 or something like that had a lot more power but didn’t last.
As far as oil it’s whatever is handy…gear lube is not good it tends to clog the silencer.
Only thing I would really worry about would be a grinder. We have a couple air grinders in the shop because the guys won’t let the electric ones live and we keep them on a oiled system.

    Flint1 Thanks this.

And the shop buys the air!

    W923 Thanks this.
