I left mega carrier to 60 truck company, hoping drivers are looking out for each other, nope same ####, this was my drop n hook this week

 

Storage trailer that some idiot took out of the yard to haul freight.

We had one driver try and hook to a trailer that that was part of our slow maneuver course. Safety Critter caught him parked in transient and had to go to sensitivity training for the language he used.

No license plate, missing lights, tires that started life in the Regan administration and this idiot was going to take it to get loaded.

 

"Sensitivity training?!" What a waste, the guy needs to get sent back to CDL school if he cant even manage the most basic precheck.

 

Only 35 at my yard, same crap. 10% of drivers do 90 % of repairs

 

Wait... safety guy had to go to sensitivity traing?

Playing to the lowest common denominator got us here. Hope driver had to go to idiot training or got a free bus ticket. Ya I said that out loud

 

Sadly it isn't that simple anymore. And common sense is uncommon.

On a related note, I lost a good gubmint job with excellent benefits in Arizona, I was wrenching on gas-powered golf carts at the city-owned course and there was an inmate crew, right? I didn't have that much to do with the inmates, as they went out on the course for the day to perform tasks under supervision, while I remained in the maintenance shed to work on carts most of the time. Big metal building with two 1000-gallon fuel tanks out back, and multiple cans or plastic jugs of fuel inside, including AvGas. Anyway, the inmates would return to the shed for breaks and lunch, and one idiot kept lighting his cigarettes near the fuel tanks... I asked him nicely a dozen times to NOT smoke near any of the tanks or jugs, particularly the 1000-gallon gasoline tank while I was standing nearby. The jackhole kept lighting up, probably just to rile me, and one day I lost patience and hollered at the moron. Lost my job over it too... God forbid I hurt the poor inmate's feelings while he endangered the lives of everyone in the workplace, pfffffft. One week the mayor is shaking my hand for cleaning up the filthy shop (worst I'd ever seen), the next week I'm let go over hollering at an inmate, despite the major OSHA violation. I haven't wrapped my head around it yet, and I don't believe I ever will... maybe that safety guy in the trucking outfit got off easy with the sensitivity training, lol.

P.S. Just to be fair, most of the inmates were intent upon quietly doing their jobs, as being on the golf course in fresh air & sunshine beat hangin' out in some funky jail cell, lol.
