    Need a bit more info.
Based in Ontario? Going for own authority? Putting a truck on under someone else's authority? Running a corporation where you are an employee? Going to run it as sole proprietor? Ever plan on hiring anybody to work directly for you? (On your payroll not like hiring a shop or an accountant/outside parties)

Nice truck. Have seen it at the big husky mississauga once or twice.

Should ask the mods to merge this with the same one you started in regulations. And delete this part of my post as well. Probably a better fit here than there. ********

I did a Federal incorporation first then learned I still had to do an Alberta Extra provincial incorporation to operate. I think I could have gotten away with just a provincial incorporation. From my understanding the Federal is if you plan on opening locations in other provinces. It also protects the name and trademarks in other provinces even if you don't operate/have a location in them. So far it hasn't complicated anything other than having to do an extra annual return once a year. Its only like 5 minutes and $13 or something for the federal one.

Correct, only need to incorporate in the 'home' province, in your case Ontario.

Registering a corporation Federally is not needed for what you are doing.

Take the time and speak with a lawyer, you can still do the paperwork yourself but having a lawyer run through your options is worthwhile. Only costs a consultation fee, and you can use that as a business expense so keep the receipt. Alot of lawyers have an incorporation package, all you do is fill the forms out and follow the directions in the package if you are doing the legwork yourself.

Talk to an accountant well...better to set things up right the first time as mistakes will cost you alot more than an hour or two with a lawyer and an accountant.

Just file 1 or the other. I am 12345 ontario Inc. That's the "legal" name of my company and I have a dba "doing business as" or trade name attached to it. I suppose instead you can get a 3456 Canada Inc. company, but as a 1 truck show, not a whole lot of point. Now a company like trans force or trans x or bison with yards all over the country, probably make more sense to have a federal company. It's an accountant question, for sure, but for people like you and me? 123 ontario Inc is good.
