On a trailer equipped with an auto inflation system, is there an easy way for a driver to test for proper functionality?

You can put internal tire sensors in them. Keep your eye on all the pressures, and temperatures. I have the tiremaxx pro installed for inflate and deflate, and it’s nice to see the system working correctly. All eight wheels at the same pressure all the time. I put the internal sensors in running a tst tpms system.

All these methods are great at finding problems that actually exist. But what I am looking for is a way to test the unit to detect a problem in the making when I might pick up something more than was planned that actually punctures a tire, making sure that the system actually works as designed. On one occasion, I picked up a 4" pocket knife blade that worked itself into the tread, another time I picked up a 2" square piece of a broken metal file! I've also picked up nails and a bolt or two..... aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh!

These systems are valuable tools when they do what they are designed to.

Yes, I have a pressure gauge, and a handheld sledgehammer (maybe 3 pounds), as well as a tread depth gauge in my toolkit.

He's pretty busy right now looking for a set of matching...[ air inlet port cap]
Or he might think about starting a thread ..[ How do you set the blinker timer ]

I would hook up the airlines & pigtail then charge the trailer brakes. If the light on the front left corner goes out it means the auto inflation has stopped adding air. That's all I knew to do for it.
