Some of you are triggered by her story... in a bad way.
ducnut, The Railsplitter and gentleroger Thank this. -
Same here.
Many of us came from different walks of life and jobs that were no longer satisfactory on a financial, physical and/or a mental level!
I can personally attest to this, I make more money in one week than I was in two weeks at one of my previous jobs!
Going from $700 every two weeks to $1400-$1500 a week was a QUANTUM LEAP income wise, plus you don’t have to deal with as many idiots!lolJust passing by, wulfman75, ducnut and 5 others Thank this. -
You obviously don't drive the same roads I do.
Just passing by, The Railsplitter, bryan21384 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Wanna bet?
In the 8 short years I’ve been driving I’ve been to all 48 contiguous United States (finally F’n made it to Montana last year after years of trying, lmao)!
Most drivers prefer to stick to local or specific regions in the country!ducnut and bryan21384 Thank this. -
Exactly right! Trucking has allowed me to make a decent living, contrary to what others say. I honestly don't regret a second of it.Just passing by, ducnut, gentleroger and 3 others Thank this.

Keeping a positive attitude helps, despite all the morons on the road, the dispatchers & brokers, the dock workers, etc. Whenever I had to deal with Big City traffic, I just viewed it as a necessary evil, to be completed ASAP so I could get back to the uncrowded highways and byways of this country. Also, I'd try to go into such places (NYC, Chicago, L.A.) at 0300 hours... there'd still be traffic, but at least it was MOVING, lol.
Edit: Drivers had more leeway with paper logs or "comic books"---perhaps today's drivers can't time their entrance to the Big City as well with the ELD & tracking BS.

Use to be much more enjoyable unde the old 8,10,15 rule. Stop the clock wait for rush hour to clear or take a nap whenever and then roll when you felt like it.ducnut Thanks this.

Gotta’ give the woman huge credit; she had massive courage to jump straight into this by being an O/O. Her truck and person look clean and professional. She’s done more in 3yrs than I have in nearly 30, in this industry.
lual, Just passing by and mjd4277 Thank this.
