Utah is one of the good states...otherwise it might not be such a good idea to walk in the office with it on your side. Other states would not stand for that, even the ones that are gun friendly...they have rules against carrying inside certain places...and that would be one of those certain places.

I live in UT and have a UT CFP so that is why I was not worried. I do check the laws if I am going to carry somewhere else. If anyone is interested go to handgunlaw.us and it gives the statutes for every state. -
you an ex-Law Enforcement Officer, BUT you are not a FEO, big difference sir.. Having said that, unless you are going to a firing range , you have the slide locked to the rear, and the ammo must not be in arms reach you may transport that weapon to the firing range. But let me ask you, how many "Normal" people transport a weapon to a firing range via a cmv?? Also i want to say that there is no federal law that gives civilans a blanket right to carry a concealed weapon in any jurisdiction.
In regard to this topic, this will be my final post, i did not come here to fight drivers, but to be a helpful resource in regard to FMCSA regulations and requirements. I speak about the weapon issue from real time experience and what i have seen on the road-side and working with the State Police from various jurisdictions.

If your going to be helpful.
Do us a
favor and Please just post up this federal law you're describing. I'll wager you a steak dinner that you can't find it because it doesn't exsist. -
If you read the majority of his posts it's easy to tell he is a rookie. Almost every post I have read of his has some flaws in regards to laws. I'll wager that he won't answer you.

He says he is here to be helpful yet all I have seen him do is show that he has it out for truck drivers. -
i luv my company they give a conceled care class once a year. we pull tankers and u dont want to try to rob one of our drivers.my bosses tell us to put one in the truck. i luv my my boss.

Well if I was you boss I would fire you, you go on a public forum and tell people you boss tells you to put a firearm in the truck now if one of his drivers go postal he has public proof that his boss told him to carry it and your boss will be in a cell next to him

Dont go to nj, ct, ny, pa, washington dc, with a gun in your truck. Calif is ok but keep gun in area out of reach of the driver, unloaded, ammo separate . Good idea not to go to the ports armed. You dont need a ccw to carry gun in truck in calif. When i say out of reach, i mean under the bunk for example. Then when you bed down in a bad area, load that sucker up. In cali, dont forget to keep ammo in another area away from your gun. Stun guns, double blade knives, swords, knives with blade longer than six inches, flare guns, are not legal in most states.
