I've stopped at chicken on the bayou several times in the past 12 years. But with the amount of profit they have made. You would think that they would have remodeled that dump. Or even moved and build a larger location by now.

Well for the absolute best of the best on all of I-10. Park at the Mardi Gras truck stop in N.O. And get an Uber to the French Quarter. One of the places thats really good is Deanie's Seafood. But there are several places that your taste buds will be begging you to return to. No matter if its breakfast, lunch or dinner.

There’s a place called Peewees crab cakes. Within 1/2 mile of the big easy Truckstop. It’s very good. I just ate lunch at Tony’s Seafood on Plank rd. in Baton Rouge. Next door to Louisiana brand foods. Tony’s is off the hook. Fresh seafood market, daily plate lunch. I got a catfish plate, with crawfish etoufee topping. Side of red beans and rice, a dirty rice w/ sausage. Hush puppies. For an appetizer I got 2 small pork ribs, and 1.5lbs of boiled crawfish. Biggest crawfish I’ve seen. Orange thin shelled, not old dark red shell w/ tough meat. I treated myself since I spent 9 hrs Saturday doing brakes on my Trailer, working in mud, and 10” if melting snow. Soaking wet and freezing. That’s my justification for spending $29 on lunch. Lol. Oooh! Dats some good food dere yeah!!!

I lived and worked in Plaquemines Parish for awhile and spent a lot of time around Houma and Galliano too. I don't miss the weather and the hurricanes but I sure miss the food. I've tried eating stuff out here that calls itself cajun but it just isn't the same.
