I have a 1 month old authority. Can I run under another person's authority for the next 5 months to let my authority mature to the 6 months a lot of brokers want? And then start back running under my own authority.... Is that possible?

You going to still pay your insurance to keep the authority active?

Not much benefit for whoever you going to run under considering you already have an exit strategy before you have their numbers on the door. Gather information who has the loads what they're paying then see-ya! Personally, I wouldn't have it. Maybe if you had a carrier with more trucks and direct accounts not accessible to single truck operations may entertain your offer.
You don't need some 6 months waiting period to get out there and get loads. There might be some brokers who won't take you as brand new, but many will. Some will ask for references who you've hauled for in the past. What difference will it make if you say nobody or if your answer is still nobody but my authority has aged for 6 months.Cat sdp Thanks this. -
6 months doesn’t really change much. They will ask for a year, than two, than inspections, there’s always something. Just get used to the hassle.

I would just find Brokers you can work with, there are plenty out there. when i was new i can only recall about 2-3 that wouldnt work with me right away, and i pull oversize. regular frieght should be easy to find loads to get ya started. Best of luck to ya!!
