What I do need is an extension cable as the Mic is a hassle to connect to the radio

My favorite was a Turner M+3 but since that's gone still looking for something decent.

Current road devil power mic is just about the worst. When I bought it, thought the squeal & "talkback" over a non-tb radio was just the cheap radio but it turns out that mic blows out something on the board no matter what you use it on.

Plugged in a cheap cobra stock mic, t.b. & squeal gone.

Thinking about one of the "xtreme 2018" power mics, maybe I'll have better luck.

Not a fan of keeping the mic on my mouth after it falls all over the place so power is a must if I want to speak at a normal level.

Those are really well built/have a nice feel in the hand.

My mistake was opening the used one which came with my dx55hp for a cleaning, the wires had zero room for give & snapped one off the ptt connected to a resistor.

Cooked the resistor with the only working soldering iron I could find. Kinda like using a 1" impact on a valve stem, beyond overkill.
