Hey all,
Been where I'm at 18 months, 12 of it dedicated left coast running PDX to LA. Clean DAC, only 1 ticket that lapses in May off a three year and a spotless safety record with nothing at all since getting my CDL A with Hazmat, doubles/triples and tanker endorsements.
I like dedicated but in looking around I am only making about 2/3rds of what most Megas are paying, and they clean forgot my one year anniversary raise altogether which puts me in mind of a move.
I'm not a Prima Donna who thinks being home on weekends means 48 whole hours or who is too scared to run but if I'm going to bump it 60-70 hours a week I want to get fairly paid for it.
Not a huge fan of tarping or falling off a flatbed trailer at almost 60 years old but I am in fairly robust shape for my age and not scared of work.
I have offers from Crete and Marten both, and some apps in with a couple of outfits doing line haul like Oak Harbor as they have a Terminal in Eugene, where I am going to be moving with my new Wife in May.
So what options do I have here? Should I just continue to suck it up for six more months until I reach the magic two years? I don't want to leave where I'm at as I like the job, but I can't make any ###### money and the backhaul loads are not only scarce at times, KBX borks the PU number over 80% of the time, costing a LOT of valuable time.
Thanks folks for any advice, some of you here have really saved me some heartache in the past with really great advice.

- Dedicated lanes 1 week home but able to touch home every couple of days
- Hauling non-hazmat

As for Crete or Marten Transport, I'd go with Marten Transport. Great pay structure and guaranteed minimum pay.

Chinatown- She knew I was doing this when we started dating and she has been cooped up with me and two dogs in a Cascadia for 2 weeks straight so i think she can handle it!
BTW- thanks again 4 the links! I saw the Trimac ad on Indeed but the off time wording seems a little weird. Marten has ya running 12 on, one off , which seems a bit harsh but I'll do what I've got to to climb the ladder. I've picked up everything I've been hit with so far including LA docks that weren't sized for 53s, Wyoming Winter last year as a newb, Utah and Colorado in the snow and the ice, and this year's Snow Fest in the Siskiyous. I like dedicated, but not everyone runs it out here and those that do, don't pay squat.

You train in L.A. for a month learning how to load and offload a DOT 407 tank.
Once finished training there, you won't need to go back.
Your job is to pick up a non HazMat resin from Hexion in Springfield, Oregon and deliver it to GAF in Shafter, California.
The resin is viscous. It is the sticky stuff in roof shingles. Hexion also makes a red resin that is the base glue in laminated wood.
Sherman Brothers/Team Transport is the competitor company which hauls the same resin to GAF. They also haul formaldehyde to Hexion which is used to create the resin.
A severe drawback to this job is that you may required to load out of Dow Chemical in Hayward, CA and deliver to Rodda Paint in Portland. I hate driving in the Bay Area due to its traffic. Those Portland idiots aren't much better.

Reefer, try Van Eerden out of Michigan. Home every 7-10, a lot of drop and hook which is pretty rare in the reefer world. They claim to average $94k/year. Top earners over $100k. Clean equipment for both companies.
