After graduating a few months back I had to get a few things sorted out at home before I could go on the road, so I held back on applying for a student driving position at companies. Now that every thing is settled I am ready to get on the road, I started to apply at a few companies; Werner, FFE, and May Trucking. I called the recruiting departments of these companies and talked with a recruiter. First I called Werner, the recruiter was very nice polite and answered all my questions with enthusiasm and was told I should be getting a phone call tomorrow.

So after that conversation I was really excited and applied at FFE and then called the recruiting department. The recruiter was rude and didnt give me the time of day to ask a question and I was immediately referred to their website to apply and was hung-up on. After that experience I was turned off from FFE.

So after FFE I called May Trucking's recruiting department at their Pensacola, FL terminal. The lady there was very nice, polite and patient and answered every single one of my questions and even asked me a few questions. She asked me to apply online while we were on the phone and she reviewed my application and gave me a pre-hire!!!

Since it has been more than 60 days since I graduated from CDL school I am required to go back for a 40 hour refresher course, which I dont mind at all since I would like to get a few more hours behind the wheel and perfect my blindside parallel park. So after I finish my refresher I call up my recruiter and set up an orientation date. OH YEA!

So guys and gals, I will see you on the road soon in a May Trucking big rig. I am so excited.

    May Trucking here I come!

Looks like I wont be getting in for my refresher course this week as the school as to many students on the range and road. But, next week they only have 9 students scheduled for the range and 6 on the road so quite possibly I will be going for a refresher then. I am so anxious to get started, the wait is killing me.
