As a new driver the options that I have for employment are limited, I'm curious to know what I can expect when it comes to medical benefits. What companies that hire recent graduates offer benefits? How long before benefits start? What can I expect as far as premiums, deductibles and max out of pocket expenses? What about national coverage when driving from state to state? I had cancer several years ago and I'm through with all of that now but I do need to take expensive medication for maybe a few more years so benefits are top of my list when it comes to who I might work for.
Any suggestions? What's your experiences?

Have you done any basic searches at all? I mean, there are countless threads addressing new hire options. Write down those companies and start researching what looks like a decent fit for what you want. Then, call the recruiters for accurate answers to your questions.

Where is your location; state and nearest town?
Union outfits have free health insurance for the driver and family.
It's high quality insurance. I had it with YRC and it was BCBS and covered pre-existing conditions.tscottme and TexasRiverRat Thank this. -
Are you a military veteran? If so, the VA will cover your medications. Illness doesn't have to be service connected.

What's wrong with the OP asking a question? Everyone starts somewhere.
If all the answers have already been given, this forum should just be archived for future reference. Something similar to the card catalogs and microfilm of my youth.
I don't have an answer for this particular post, but apparently you don't either. So what exactly is your reason for responding? Recruiters inherently lie.REO6205 Thanks this. -
Pretty much all the larger companies hiring new drivers are going to offer medical benefits. The quality and cost of the coverage may vary a lot. You'll have to find out specifics from each company you're interested in. They will typically start within 1-3 months. I think 60 days is what I've seen most often.

Some have "Day One Benefits"
I don't have a list of those, but they're there. -
Eau Claire Wisconsin. There are lots of good jobs around here once I get a year in. I'm leaving my career of 28 years to drive, After a year I could drive for the company I work for now but I need to get my experience first and I'm willing to move most anywhere.
