That’s why I prefer going to terminals/hubs. With meet points there is always a possibility that’s something is gonna happen with either driver…accidents, breakdowns, city drivers coming late, traffic, load not ready, couldn’t find a truck and list goes on.![]()

Run them to the shop and it can be done before cut or if it's too bad... They'll change the trailers entirely. Only one time did I over sleep and get there at 1930. Ended up leaving at almost 2130 because the trailer needed 2 flats fixed. Thankfully, it was with the old meet guy and he slept like a baby until I got there.
I start the new run Monday. My buddy says the meet guy is bad but he's the type of guy to leave at almost 2200 on a 2030 cut. I'll still be there early so hopefully this goes smooth. I'm going to miss the old run because the money was very good. Easy 100K and don't even need a 30 minute break. This run is like 70 miles shorter so it should be a breeze... Just a huge cut in pay.
Thanks for reading guys... I'll keep you posted.USMC 3531, Mike2633, jmz and 1 other person Thank this. -
My meet overall is working out good, we have issues sometimes that are caused by our terminals that are out of our control, we just keep in communication and it seems to work out, we did get to work every day this week but we were cut down to doubles for most of it, I am concerned now though because with the exception of Wednesday he brought me empties all week, and I was bringing him mostly relay trailers going to Dallas, usually I am bringing him Vegas trailers and he brings me Reno trailers, it could be nothing also, the way the weather has been could be a factor and causing the no freight, just hope it isnt going to be a regular thing, as you guys all know thats when the companies start cutting runs and making re adjustments.

Hey guys is there any truck GPS that any of you guys like, trust or use?
I haven’t really ever used one, but I think I may need one in the future maybe as a back up tool what do you guys think? -
I’ve got a Gramin Dezl truck gps. I can’t remember the rest of the model number. Been using it on and off for 7 years it has free lifetime updates. It’s never led me to a low bridge or anything like that. Only issues I’ve had were it telling me certain roads are “no trucks” when in fact the road was a truck route. Some addresses it can get wonky but if I’m going to an unfamiliar place I ask for directions from another driver, use the truck gps, and use a map app on my phone just to be safe. I know they are pricey but I used my Loves fuel points to buy it when I was doing team driving. If your a seasoned driver you can most likely get by using your phone map app and good judgement.
