I have a 2ks in a 2000 KW,,,18 speed,,,4.11 on big rubber,,,I pull a 5 axle flat and am usually running around grossing 135000-138000 lbs,,,I had a fellow go over it,,,he did an awesome job setting it up and got a fuel wire installed,,,that little bugger (c-12) just gets right to work,,,the turbo spools up super quick,,usually pegs out at 27lbs,,unless its really cold out,,then its tickling 30!!!
Have to say different times when Im checking the oil or under the hood checking things,,,ive looked at the turbo,,and wonder to myself how it hasn't blown itself through the side of the hood,,,,the little bugger just wrenches its guts out to do its best!!!

What is normal manifold pressure on the c-12 engines????.......the one we run shows 35lbs on the gauge at wide open. Just curious as to if that's normal. Oh and its an 03 model set at 430hp and 1650 tq.

The only big issue that i've heard of that you want to be sure of on a c-12 is that the cam followers have been changed to the updated ones!!!
From what i understand,,,the original ones somehow fail and get sent through the side of the block,,,which obviously isnt really all that great!!!
Either than the followers,,,head gaskets and water pumps seam to be the only other problems with these engines!!!
As far as manifold pressure goes,,,the only other guy that i've talked to with a c-12,,(which happens to be a twin to my truck,,1 SN difference) says he's running anywhere from 24 to 26!!! -
Didn't make it by today to get the ECM printout, but will Monday. The dealer has replaced the fan solenoid & oil pan gasket even after the deal was done. They could have just steam washed it & sent it down the road with me none the wiser. So am happy about that.

LBZ did you read that CAT recommendation, we should start a pole everyone here that has ever taken their truck in to have the coolant analyzed. If you do not get it done every 500hrs as is recommended then go with the Power-cool or Noat. That would be at least 4 times a year. Wonder what it costs, and it specifies getting a sample analysed and not tested, with strips. Please post the cost of coolant analysing. It also says a coolant filter is not needed, that is foolish in my opinion. Any grit that is sloughed off by the motor casting or any other coolant covered piece works as an abrasive if you do not get it out. Just a thought!

last tank-1336 miles 203.7 gallons 6.55 mpg 45.7 engine hours 29.2 mph average telling us that I still idled plenty so even if we figure I could have shaved off 5 hrs idle and used 5 less gallons that puts us at 6.72 on winter fuel with still some extra idle
I keep METICULOUS mpg records and this truck is consistantly in the 7's in the summer
I drive no faster than 65 but almost always at least 60 with a 379
I think you will be happy add the boost and fuel temp wires and you cant go wrongLBZ Thanks this. -

Can the ECM be programmed at a higher HP in only certain gears? Doesn't make sense to me, but talked to the previous owner & he said that CAT turned up the motor for only 9th & 10th? Yet the dyno shows really good HP readings all the way across unless I am not reading it right.
As far as driving, it seems to take off in 7th & 8th vs. any other gear?
