The only one is do not have partners. -
Besides the obvious, there are good lessons for everyone.
Always separate emotions from business and do not let them blind you when making decisions
Always keep your mind on the task
Find the help you need to protect yourself or to do what you’re looking to accomplish
Even if the boat sinks you can always build a better one the next time. -

You're 100% right. I was going to handle the finances, pay bills, etc. As far as the business end, I'd be doing all of that. He would be responsible for finding loads / driving.
