Hello everyone,
So I recently purchased a 1990 Kenworth W900 B with a CAT 3406b in it that thru a rod through the block so the truck is currently inoperable. I am looking to restore and modify this truck into a long hood W900 along with paint and interior work. My question is if it were you doing this project would you make the truck operable first and drive it to the location that would do the majority of the modifications (along with work the truck some and make some money with it) or would you just leave it as is and have all the work done at one time? Also to add some clarity to the situation I want to swap out the b model CAT and put a 3406e with a 13 or 18 speed in it. What would be your course of action to completing this project?

I would buy with a w900L with a 3406E

Oxbow Thanks this.

So my other option is to buy a w900L daycab and add a sleeper bunk. Would this be easier? Both trucks are the same price.

I'd hold out for what you want and build from there.
Been down the road of trying to make things into something they're not and its almost always a complete pain in the ### or ends up costing a lot more in the end.Bean Jr. Thanks this.
