1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

35 year old male with 4 years driving (2 months recent) looking to go back on the wheel. Have valid class A with all endorsements except hazmat (which I can get first hometime). I have a 14 year old felony, clean mvr with one suspension for nonpayment of fines. Has been taken care of and license reinstates. Any ideas where I should look? All experience is 53 ft box and straight truck. Thank you in advance for your time.

I am located in southern West Virginia.

how can you get hazmat if you have a felony. isnt that an automatic disqualifier for the background check.

yeah if a violent or drug charge automatic no on hazmat. Nonviolent offenses and non drug offenses don't hem you up on the background check.

My hubby is ina similar situation. He has a 10 yr old misdiminor conviction which he has a warrent for for unpaid fines, only 1 moving violation in 2008, and an accident in 04. We are having the hardest time finding him a job even with his hazmat. No one will touch him. Anyone have any advice who to go to?

If you read the requirements it clearly states the differences in felonies.
Violence,Drugs,Weapons etc are a No Go.

I do know with an active warrant he will probably be untouchable. Get that warrant taken care of then a lot more doors will open. My biggest issue I am having now is they don't wanna hire out of my state.
