I thought you were supposed to show 8 hours continuous sleeper as part of the ten hour break? Wouldn't her logging off-duty just to go to the bathroom mess up her continous sleeper status?
I've been out of trucking since 2020, so maybe the updates changed that too?

Say what?! You can't be considered off-duty for all five hours if you spend all five hours sitting in the passenger seat while co-driver drives down the interstate?
-
For crying out loud, do ppl really change duty status from sleeper to off duty just to go take a crap?
Hazmat Cat, austinmike, shanman and 5 others Thank this. -
Truck isn’t rolling..no reason to be trapped in the sleeper. Don’t overthink it
austinmike and Seth0194 Thank this. -
Teams that RUN, live in the truck and really have no life while working. The wheels are always turning... Thats why they make the big bucks.

I would love to have you sit in on some off the meetings we have about proper logging . . .austinmike and lester Thank this.

Yes I do. I log duty status with a note..”Off duty for a poop”
Seth0194 Thanks this. -
It’s more of a reminder to achieve a proper reset in a rolling CMV. Three off duty in the passenger seat maximum and 7 SB. After that all passenger seat time is logged on duty.
The regulations are written for a “rolling” CMV.. -

The best advice I have seen here is to NOT overthink this. Set the driver status properly before the vehicle moves. If you got to go drop a deuce go take care of business. If you want to change duty status go ahead, trust me, if you stay in SB status and go you won't find DOT cops and Federal Marshals ready to arrest you for a HOS violation!
Seth0194, Gridaxe5588 and rch10007 Thank this.
