Why do we even have speed limits? Let just limit all the 4 wheelers to the same speed too, whats the worst that can happen when everyone is pacing each other for the entire trip.

Why stop at 65, 62 etc? Lets go all out and make it 45 mph max, just stick peddle to the floor and hope you arent nodding off out of sheer bordom when some road raging 4 wheeler decided they want to turn themself into a hood ornament.

Joan Claybrook served in the Carter administration as head of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) from 1977 to 1981. During that time she forced the truck manufacturers to put ABS on all trucks, even though the industry, including the companies that were working on developing these ABS systems, telling her that the systems were not ready yet. Truck sales went down as many companies held off new equipment purchases, waiting to see how these systems would work out. And they didn't work out very well. So many of these new ABS trucks had accidents caused by the faulty ABS systems, that the ABS requirements was rescinded. And ABS didn't re-appear until 1997-1998 when the new systems came online.
So that this woman, Joan Claybrook, who was responsible for so many accidents, injuries and deaths because she wouldn't listen to the experts, is the spokesmen for the safety nazis is a joke. She was embarrassed by the industry, and has been on an anti-truck crusade ever since.

Thats the way the country is going, the academics and "advocates" (aka lobbyists) are the ones making all the rules. We cant have any blue collar types with their common sense having a say in anything. Lets let people who have never even touched a truck tell everyone how to make trucking safe.

That's 42 years ago, how old is this hag? She should be knitting blankets and baking cookies by now. Limiting speed will not be the big prize they are looking for.

Wikipedia says 85. Who needs to retire when youve never "worked" a day in your life?

What I think is even more disturbing...look at the Cabinet Secretaries...Although they have always been Political appointees...Once upon a time they were at least from some form of the biz they were put in charge of
Last 4 presidents at least...they either All big donors...or put there because of either to end an opponent’s campaign or to check some type of box or both

    Buttigieg

This speed limiter rule to make all trucks the same speed on the hwy is going to work about as well as speed limiting passenger jumbo jets to 65 mph on the runway to decrease all the near misses in the news lately.

........ and somehow its not going to surprise me if he doesn't try that at some point.

Good luck with 60 + CPAP + all the mad racing due to .5 mph difference between trucks. Talk about inducing a lot of road rage from the 4 wheelers. Not to mention even fewer people willing to drive a truck, meaning the companies will have to increase wages. It would be a debacle to say the least.
